A- Reading comprehension (7pts)
Read this text carefully then do the activities
Computer technology is progressing so fast that most people cannot understand. As
soon as we have bought a computer, we learn that there is a newer, faster model available.
The advertisement tells us we should buy the latest model immediately. But do we really
have to buy it? What can new computers do for us?
First of all, computers already allow us to communicate with someone “on-line”.
Some computers have a small camera which videos you. Then, the computers send the
picture to the person you are communicating with.
Secondly, computers are getting smaller. In addition, it is possible to have computers
linked to TV, video and hi-fi. The computer can control your home entertainment system.
Next, computers may control one day all the systems in your home: the lights, the airconditioning
and the appliances in the kitchen.
Finally, many modern cars have computers in them, but cars still need a driver.
So, to sum-up, if you want to do all the latest things with your computer, you need the
most up-to-date model.
